The 6th Seaforths were fighting a rearguard action in the Ypres area of Belgium on the day the Belgians capitulated. They had suffered grievous losses during the blitzkrieg as the Germans raced across Belgium. Fighting close to the famous WW1 battleground of Hill 60, the 6th Seaforths were trying to hold "The Dump" 28 men of the battalion were killed on the 27th all bar four being buried in Bedford House Cemetery. |
